NOTICE OF CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD

City of Creedmoor, Texas

Notice is hereby given that the City of Creedmoor will hold a General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the purpose of electing the following officers:

- Alderman – One (1) position

- Alderman – Two (2) at-large positions

Filing Period

Applications for a place on the ballot will be accepted during the following period:

First Day to File: Friday, July 18, 2026

Last Day to File: Monday, August 17, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.

Application Information

Candidate applications will be available prior to the filing period and may be obtained:

-Online at www.cityofcreedmoortx.gov

-In person at Creedmoor City Hall, 5008 Hartung Lane, Creedmoor, TX 78610

Completed applications must: 

-Be in writing and signed

-Be sworn to before a notary public or the City Secretary and

-Clearly state the candidate's name and the office sought 

Submission Options

Applications may be submitted:

-In person

-By mail

-By email or fax, provided the application is complete, signed, and notarized

 

Note: If a filing fee is required, it must be submitted in person or by mail. Filing fees cannot be submitted by email or fax. If using a petition in lieu of a filing fee, the petition may be submitted electronically with the application. 

All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m on Monday, August 17, 2026. Postmarks do not count.

Deadline to Withdraw

A candidate may withdraw their application by submitting a signed and notarized Certificate of Withdrawal no later than 5:00 p.m on Monday, August 24, 2026.

This notice is issued in accordance with Texas Election Code §§ 141.031, 141.040, 143.007, 144.005, 144.006, and related provisions. For questions regarding qualifications or filing procedures, please contact the City Secretary.
